OK, winning the lottery for house renovation was one thing. The television production is something else.
Now the day of reckoning for the wrecked is here. Tonight you will see "Auntie" with her "roots," "wrinkles," and "rolls." And the voice, ai, yi yi—even people from Boston won't be able to decipher what I am saying. My diction is non-existent.
It is a good thing that I previewed the first episode with long time buddies from UMass, Hanrahan and Ryan. They totally goofed on it, which was great. Otherwise I would still be under the covers. They thought I looked like an ad for anti-depressants because I am so "animated." I told them that the crew encourages and prompts you to be animated. They said, "Well, why does Liz look so normal?" Good thing I have known them since college. Like my neighbor Tommy said enroute to a Patriots' game: "You're in the game, now you have to play!" Good advice! It is what it is…have a few yuks on me.

Congrats - I can't wait to watch it I'm setting the TiVO as I type!
Way to go Chris! Renovations are hell but the results are worth it. Steve and I have been through two sets since moving to Dorchester ten years ago. BTW - you look great! Congrats.
From thousands of miles away in Juneau, Alaska (via the wizardry of satellites) you and your niece looked like pros. Thanks to both of you and This Old House for doing this blog. I've been watching This Old House since it began, so it's neat to have the perspective of the homeowners in the process and what they go through.
As an old friend once said" You've still got it, Flynn!" Liz, too!
Great show. I loved wayching and will see you every week.
What a great first show!!! It's funny reading along all of this time and now seeing it (and hearing you) is pretty surreal!
You'll need to keep up the post with each show to tell us what they left out.
Way to go Chris! How did you pull this off? Awesome!
