Yep, it all started when they moved the refrigerator into the dining room. Now there is no going back. We have set up shop with a toaster oven, coffee maker, hotplate, and microwave.
Tonight, another great meal. Menu? A lovely salad of bibb lettuce, sweet grape tomatoes, grated fresh ginger, blueberries, Gorgonzola cheese and red pepper flakes dressed with extra virgin olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon. For the entree, bone-in pork chop cooked on the hot plate, preceded by sauteed onions and mushrooms. I wish I knew how to figure out which end is "high"—I almost dropped the whole thing down the empty chute where the chimney used to be and had to run the left palm under cold water. Ouch!
I have never owned a microwave, so I had the ear of corn cook for 4 min…more like popcorn! How many "How To Cook With A Microwave" cookbooks have i thrown out over the years?? No dessert; I'm morphing into a cow. Then there are the friends (?) that remind me that TV adds 20 lbs. Great—plus the 20 that I'm adding on myself. Get ready for the wide screen.
Yikes, what is that noise??? It is like an electric toothbrush on steroids. Get up, look…ah it's some kind of machine that Tom has to circulates the air when the dust gets too heavy—at least that's what I think it is doing.
Oh, and by the way, they have put the wallboard up for the bathroom in the attic. It was done overnight—I can't believe this. Plus, can I tell you how hot it is up in the attic under the slate roof with the sun (when it does make an appearance) soaking through? But these guys are so even tempered. Maybe I can change my line of work…
Have to go wash the dishes in the bathtub. Oh yeah, that's another story for another day.
