Friday morning..sipping coffee, paying bills and there is no one here. It is an accepted fact that as long as we stay at This Old House we are at the mercy of the workers. They have all been very kind, thorough and clean. We try to stay out of their way and vice versa. There is always an offer of a cup of coffee from us to them or an offer to us when they make their beverage and donut runs.
Yesterday was wild! They actually took the chimney down. Of course it started to rain when they were all in the bucket. They had to bring the bucket down for camera covers and rain slickers for the guys. Liz's friend's father and uncle stopped by to check out the scene (and to cash in on lunch…only kidding). Kay Ellen's uncle is a priest and he gave the house and the workers a blessing. Hats came off, heads were bowed and production resumed.
Friday morning…2nd cup of coffee and still no one here. Ah, let's enjoy the quiet. —Chris
